Welcome to Costa Brava! One of my favourite parts of Catalonia ❤️

Costa Brava is a breathtaking stretch of coastline in northeastern Catalonia that boasts fantastic beaches, turquoise waters, and a rich cultural heritage. While popular destinations like Barcelona and Girona are often in the spotlight, Costa Brava is also home to hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
If you’re looking for a unique holiday experience, then read on as I reveal to you the lesser-known spots along the Costa Brava that are worth visiting.
From the picturesque town of Calella de Palafrugell to the rugged hiking trails of Cap de Creus, I’ve got you covered with tips for an unforgettable adventure!
Calella de Palafrugell
Hidden along the coast, Calella de Palafrugell is a picturesque fishing village with charm and tranquility. Its narrow streets are lined with white houses, and its sandy coves invite you to dip in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
Stroll along the scenic coastal path, known as Camí de Ronda, and discover hidden coves such as Cala del Golfet, perfect for a sunbathing session or a refreshing swim. Don’t forget to indulge in the local gastronomy, with fresh seafood and traditional Catalan dishes that will delight you.

Cap de Creus Natural Park
For nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers, Cap de Creus is where the land meets the sea. This rugged coastal landscape offers dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, and panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Don’t miss the iconic lighthouse, Far de Cap de Creus, perched on a cliff overlooking the sea, offering breathtaking sunsets and a sense of serenity that will captivate your soul.

Tamariu
Tamariu is a charming fishing village that has managed to retain its authentic charm despite its proximity to more popular tourist destinations. With its golden sand beach, turquoise waters, and cozy seafood restaurants, Tamariu offers a laid-back and authentic experience.
Explore the bay’s surroundings, go snorkelling or kayaking, or simply relax on the beach and soak up the sun. Tamariu will offer you a true taste of Costa Brava’s maritime heritage.

Begur
Up on a hill and overlooking the sea, you will find Begur: a medieval town that will captivate you with its rich history and stunning architecture. Wander through its narrow streets lined with stone houses, and archways and immerse yourself in its charming atmosphere.
Visit its iconic castle, Castell de Begur, which dates back to the 11th century and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. Don’t miss the beautiful beaches nearby, such as Aiguablava (one of my favourites!!! 🤩) and Sa Tuna, which are known for their clear waters and picturesque scenery. Begur combines history, culture, and natural beauty, making it a must-visit destination in Costa Brava.

Tossa de Mar
Tossa de Mar is a coastal gem along the Costa Brava steeped in history and charm. Its ancient walled town, Vila Vella, is a maze of narrow streets, stone houses, and ancient walls that date back to the 13th century. Explore the village, stroll along the ancient walls, and admire the panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding landscape. I don’t think there’s something similar anywhere else 🥹
Tossa de Mar also boasts beautiful beaches, such as Platja Gran and Cala es Codolar, where you can soak up the sun or take a refreshing dip in the Mediterranean Sea. With its rich history and stunning coastal scenery, Tossa de Mar will transport you back in time.

Costa Brava is not just about popular tourist destinations, it’s also home to many enchanting villages that are worth exploring. Besides all of these towns I showed you, there are countless lesser-known spots that offer unique experiences and breathtaking scenery.
