Today I come with a coffee shop recommendation. Well, we don’t call it coffee shops, we call them cafeterias and in this case, it is called granja (literally farm). You can find some cafeterias called Granja and then the name, it means that before they used to sell dairy products and had a part for the clients to consume them.

This is one of my favourite coffee shops in Barcelona: Granja M. Viader. I usually go there during Christmas time with my family, it has become like a tradition to have breakfast there at least one day during the holidays.
The place is famous because they invented there a chocolate milkshake typical from Catalonia: Cacaolat.
Regulars go there to have a Cacaolat or a hot chocolate with whipped cream (it is called suís: Swiss haha). Also, you can taste melindros and other pastries like xurros. Oh! And they have a part where you can buy some of their products.
I highly recommend you to have a look at their website to immerse yourself in their history, it’s in English and has plenty of information and photos 🙂
